My favourite singer

My favourite singer is Lisa Hannigan. She is an Irish folk singer. I am fond of her sweet voice, because it makes me feel like calm and touches my soul. Moreover, I adore her songs, because they make me relax and dream. Furthermore, she is very pretty and seems to be discreet. I also admire her ethereal presence and her aesthetic, i.d. how she talks, how she sings, how she dresses and how she moves. She is like a fairy. Finally, I strongly believe that Lisa Hannigan is a graceful and talented singer and with Damien Rice , they are a wonderful duet.

Lyrics

KNOTS

It was early in the morning,
we were sitting on the stoop,
there wheeled away a starling
and I thought that I would too.
Oh for all I knew,
I was lost through and through,
in my high heels and my old dress
with my new keys in the wrong city.
I tie the knots to remember in my heart,
so I choke and I sputter to a stop,
I am a borrower and lender of the lot.
I walk away asleep
and chalk an outline round the scene.
This shadow play of whiskey talk,
a heavy denier dream.
Oh let it be, I was lost in him and me.
In my high heels and my old dress
with my new keys in the wrong city.
I tie the knots to remember in my heart,
so I choke and I sputter to a stop,
I am a borrower and lender of the lot.

VOLCANO
 Don't hold yourself like that
You'll hurt your knees
I kissed your mouth and back
But that's all I need
Don't build your world around volcanoes melt you down
What I am to you is not real
What I am to you you do not need
What I am to you is not what you mean to me
You give me miles and miles of mountains
And I'll ask for the sea

Don't throw yourself like that
In front of me
I kissed your mouth your back
Is that all you need?
Don't drag my love around volcanoes melt me down

What I am to you is not real
What I am to you you do not need
What I am to you is not what you mean to me
You give me miles and miles of mountains
And I'll ask what I give to you
Is just what I'm going through
This is nothing new
No no just another phase of finding what I really need
Is what makes me bleed
And like a new disease she's still too young to treat
Like a distant tree
Volcanoes melt me down
She's still too young
I kissed your mouth
You do not need me

  1. Great choice of singer, Sotiria! I got to know Lisa (and Damien) through your facebook updates and I truly loved them both! I also adore the way you learn through songs, either they are in English or in French. You encourage me to do the same on our French blog and it really helps! :-)
